Reliable leaker NateTheHate claims Sony is likely to host a PS5 livestream next week, possibly as part of a State of Play. If true, a late-September showcase would line up with the Tokyo Game Show and could bring trailers and release windows for several first-party titles.
NateTheHate has since doubled down, posting a short confirmation that the event is due “Next week.”

Sony has a presentation soon.

Sony generally leaves only a few days between announcing a livestream and actually running it, so a confirmation on Tuesday and an event on 23rd September seems plausible. That timing would conveniently coincide with Tokyo Game Show, where many publishers do their own reveals and follow-ups.
Any first-party reveals would almost certainly sit alongside third-party news and indie highlights. If Sony does run a short, focused State of Play it may favour a handful of marquee trailers rather than a very long showcase. What would you most like to see announced?
