Returnal could be arriving to PC based on Steam backend files

Returnal could very well be the next PlayStation exclusive coming to the PC platform. The indications of this maneuver have been revealed by SteamDB Discord members, who later shared their findings over on ResetEra, the famous gaming forum. For those unfamiliar with it, Returnal is a third-person shooter roguelike video game developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The possible arrival of Returnal to PC is backed up by Valve’s backend files, in which a PC release date whirrs. As seen on ResetEta, members have found an entry for this project named ‘Returnal,’ which has recently shown up on SteamDB – a third-party site that searches through the Steam database and reveals potential surprises.

The listing for this product is found under the Oregon codename, but multiple clues hint at its true identity. Those include localization strings referencing various in-game locations, including Atropos planet and Helios ship from protagonist Selene’s perspective adventure, including some DLC referrers such as the Tower of Sisyphus.

There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Returnal will be coming to PC. It all depends on the developer’s intentions, but one thing is for sure – based on what was discovered today, there might have room for this to happen.
