Retro Rewind Video Store Simulator remains PC-only for now, no PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch versions announced

Blood Pact Studios said the game was optimized for PC and told players on Discord not to expect console ports at this time.

Retro Rewind Video Store Simulator, the indie viral sim about running a 1990s video rental shop, is currently available on PC and has no confirmed ports to PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo platforms.

Developer Blood Pact Studios has focused development on the PC build. The studio’s FAQ and recent comments on its Discord channel explained that the project was optimized for PC hardware and that console versions were not part of the plan right now.

Where consoles stand

There is no PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 release scheduled for the game. Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One are also not supported. Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2 received no landing page or announcement either.

What the developer said

On Discord the team wrote about their priorities and performance targets. The studio’s message read:

“We are currently focused on making the best PC game possible. Please don’t expect console ports. We have optimized Retro Rewind for performance, so it should run well on a wide range of systems.”

The statement framed the project’s immediate future as PC-first. Blood Pact did not provide a timeline or roadmap for console ports.

If you want a wider industry comparison, some recent indie projects have similarly launched on PC before exploring other platforms; Mega Crit’s decision to keep Slay the Spire 2 off PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch during Early Access is one example of that approach (Slay The Spire 2 Early Access console status).

I've spent half of my life playing video games, ever since the competitive 1.6 era. Now I am happily married to Margarita Kicevski, and have two beautiful children. My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Since I have rebooted this website, I am planning on making it huge. Just you wait!
