Capcom confirmed Leon Kennedy will appear as a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem during The Game Awards on December 11, 2025. The new trailer premiered at the show and pairs graphic visuals with story beats that place Leon alongside series newcomer Grace Ashcroft. The footage presents Leon in combat-ready form and suggests his sections lean more action-focused while Grace’s storyline centers on investigation and mystery. Capcom lists the game for release on February 22, 2026.

The trailer follows several leaks that hinted at Leon’s inclusion. Earlier reports claimed he would appear in brief moments in the first trailer and that his play segments would skew toward action, and those claims line up with what Capcom showed at The Game Awards. See our leaker report and the Leon action leak for more background on prior disclosures.
Resident Evil Requiem follows Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Outbreak character Alyssa, as she investigates mysterious deaths in Raccoon City. The trailer positions Requiem as a bridge between the franchise’s remake sensibilities and the recent entries’ tone.
