Sad Cat Studios announced on X that the release date for Replaced has been moved from March 12, 2026 to April 14, 2026. The studio said the build is “technically finished” but the team wants more time to polish and stabilize the final version so it better matches the studio’s vision. Sad Cat pointed to player comments and other feedback gathered from the Steam Demo as a key source of insight that is shaping those final tweaks.
This is the latest in a string of schedule changes. Replaced was first pushed back in 2024 into 2025 to allow the team to “meet high standards” as announced at the time, and it was delayed again in August 2025 when the studio moved the target to Spring 2026. The studio reminded players that it is a small team working on its first full game and that team members have poured everything into the project.
The announcement by Sad Cat Studios on X described the decision as coming after “a lot of back and forth” and singled out stability and fidelity to the original vision as the reasons for the shift. Sad Cat also said the Steam Demo was initially nerve-wracking but ultimately useful for prioritizing fixes and adjustments.
Hyper – Spoiler now playing.
In all seriousness — thank you everyone who have played the demo and left feedback!
We will need a little extra time to fix some issues and make the performance smoother for people playing on lower-end hardware.Love you guys ❤️ pic.twitter.com/afssqJjQUM
