While many gamers are still hunting for the latest consumer GPUs, one Reddit user managed to snag an Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPU, boasting three times the memory of the RTX 5090, for just twice the MSRP. This pro-level card is designed for heavy-duty rendering and massive model creation. It is not typical gaming, but the deal is eye-catching.
The RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs have started shipping, and they’re no joke. These cards pack 96GB of VRAM, making them beasts for professional workloads. The price tag? Around $9,000 USD with VAT is a huge jump compared to even the most expensive gaming GPUs.
However, the Redditor, known as Recurrents, got lucky. They received an allocation from the first batch and benefited from a $5,000 discount grant from Nvidia, bringing the final cost down to roughly $3,000-$4,000. That’s still a lot of money, but when you consider that the RTX 5090’s MSRP is about $2,000 and often sells for more due to shortages and demand, this deal looks a bit more reasonable.
Keep in mind that the Nvidia grant isn’t easy to get. It appears to be reserved for full-time faculty at accredited institutions awarding Ph.D.s, so most gamers won’t qualify. I’ve contacted Nvidia to see if there are other ways to access similar discounts.

What do you think about this pro-level GPU deal? If you had the chance, would you spend thousands on a card like this? Please drop your thoughts in the comments below, I’m curious to hear your take!
