After the delay of Rainbow Six Extraction to 2022, Ubisoft had failed to keep the release date secret, as a new leak has seemingly revealed its official release date. Ubisoft’s upcoming PvE co-op game went through several name changes before it officially became Rainbow Six Extraction.
This leak comes from the original site of the game. In an article, VGC has also noted that the website had been updated to show January 20 as a release date. According to the first paragraph:
Rainbow Six Extraction, formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, made its gameplay debut during today’s Ubisoft Forward, giving a taste of what to expect when the game launches in January. With development being led by Ubisoft Montreal, Rainbow Six Extraction is a PvE co-op experience where you and up to two other players can form a squad composed of Rainbow Six Operators who have joined Ash, Mira, and Thermite to form the Rainbow Exogenous Analysis and Containment Team (REACT).
While such a statement is non-existent in the official blog post by Ubisoft, it might have been removed in the meantime. So, as a co-op game, it seems that we have a lot of surprises stored in Rainbow Six Extraction, as it might be one of the reasons why the developer has delayed the game as it is concerned about its state and playability. In other news, Rainbow Six Extraction will include the following features at launch:
- 18 Operators,
- 12 ever-evolving map
- 13 high-stakes missions
- 25 Gadgets
- 69 weapons
- 13 enemy archetypes
- Deep progression system
- New lore
- 3-Player Co-Op
- Solo Play
- Full Cross-Play
- Endless replayability
