PUBG’s update #3 improves server performance by adding multiple lobby spawn locations

As you know, after you find a match in PUBG you’re put in a game lobby where everyone is merely waiting for the game to begin. All of the matched people were spawning at the same area, which additionally has been choking the server and their performance. Thankfully, that will no more be an issue. Players will no longer spawn in the same area.

After Bluehole’s update decreasing the view distance when parachuting, this appears to be the second in a row that improves server performance.

Furthermore, Bluehole has decided to add new anti-cheat measures as it is quite hard to prevent cheaters in a blockbuster. The numbers are growing, which makes it clear that there will be even more coming. What appears to be funny is players being frustrated because of the open regions. Mostly because of China being able to join to EU and US. They have expressed their frustration throughout posting a comment in the comments section on steam.

It’s both funny and understandable that the community wants to limit players with high latency playing on their servers. It appears that in PUBG, it gives them an overall advantage over certain things. The list of comments just goes on.

If you’d love to check the full changelog, it’s right below:

Gameplay

Introduced multiple pre-match starting areas on both maps in order to optimize the server and game client performance

  • Removed weapons on starting island before the match start

Language

  • Applied new Russian, Japanese and Chinese (simplified/traditional) fonts

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the issue where players were able to slide-jump from prone

My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Since I have rebooted this website, I am planning on making it huge. Just you wait!
