PUBG Studios has released update 1.004 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 25 to address an audio problem that started after a November 21 hotfix. The November 21 hotfix introduced an abnormal audio condition for some console players. The developer acknowledged the issue and said, “Following today’s hotfix for the audio adjustment patch, we have been notified of the persistent abnormal audio issue.” That statement came before the studio applied the additional fix.
In a follow-up post, the studio said, “An additional hotfix was implemented today at 05:13 UTC to fix an issue where sound was playing abnormally on PlayStation/Xbox platforms.” Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S should install the small client-side download to receive the correction. There are no other player-facing changes reported with this patch. The update is aimed squarely at restoring normal sound behavior for console clients after the earlier audio adjustment, so expect a short download and a quick restart of the client.
If anyone still encounters audio problems after updating, report the behavior to PUBG Support and include platform and headset or TV details so the team can trace any remaining edge cases. The studio post about the hotfix is available on PUBG Support’s post on X.
