PUBG Corp suing Epic Games because of Fortnite’s in-game similarities

Back in the days, whenever Fortnite appeared on the radar, PUBG decisions were to Judicial actions as soon as possible. After a long time, PUBG Corp has made a decision to do that right now. Well, like it or not, this time may be a too little too late.

PUBG is taking Epic Games to court, or more precisely, filed a copyright violation lawsuit against the US Based Epic Games, asking the court to determine whether or not Fortnite was a copy of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. This was reported on Korea Times and it began a long time ago when Fortnite BR was released.

More precisely, when Fortnite released, Bluehole stated that it raises some concerns and as a developer, they wouldn’t love to see their game having similarities. After that, nothing changed, and Bluehole has stated that they’re using the same Engine which is Unreal Engine, developed by Epic Games. There are so many twists in this story and is about to become harder to understand.

One thing remains sure, and that is Fortnite’s later release. According to the Korea Times, this report has been filled in January. Therefore, this whole statement on copyright infringement may bring both interesting and crucial news to the world. One of the most important factors that PUBG Corp is frustrated about is that the game is using Unreal Engine 4, which is developed by Epic Games, and therefore as a competitor, they have the power to postpone crucial engine updates so it would benefit its own game first.
