State of play

According to Streams Charts, the event on February 12 saw an average of 1.8 million viewers across all streams and co-streams. At its peak, the viewership skyrocketed to an impressive 2.18 million concurrent viewers. This marks the first time any State of Play has crossed that magical two million threshold.

The main feed on the PlayStation channel peaked at 656,000 concurrent viewers. However, the surge in overall viewership can be mainly attributed to over 1,000 co-streamers reacting live during the presentation. Streamers like Asmongold, xQc, and others pulled in audiences as they shared their takes while watching.

Streams Charts highlighted that while most channels had fewer than 1,000 viewers each, their collective effort helped shatter previous records. The engagement during this event is a testament to the anticipation and excitement surrounding these showcases.

This particular State of Play wasn’t just about record viewer counts; it also brought some exciting news for gamers. Among the highlights was the reveal of Saros, from Housemarque, the minds behind Returnal. Although we only got a cinematic trailer this time, it certainly left many eager to learn more.

Other significant announcements included details like the confirmed release date for Borderlands 4, a highly anticipated remaster of Days Gone, and a brand-new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

The surrounding this record-breaking event is just another reminder that gaming continues to unite us all in unexpected ways! What do you think about these announcements? Did anything stand out, particularly for you? Share your thoughts below!
