As Season 1 of Diablo 4, known as the “Season of the Malignant,” draws closer, players are in for thrilling surprises, including new items, formidable gems, Uber-Unique, and much more. Blizzard has recently offered guidance on ensuring a seamless transition into this new season.
Slated to kick off on July 20, the Season of the Malignant will see a vile evil creeping into Sanctuary. To ensure you’re fully prepared to face these challenges, Blizzard recommends that players take a few essential steps on their most progressed Eternal Realm character before the season begins.
Finish the Campaign
The first and perhaps most crucial step is to complete the campaign. Players must have finished the campaign on either the Eternal or Seasonal Realm with at least one character to access the new Seasonal content. If you haven’t done so, now is the time to buckle down and conquer that campaign!
Discover all of Sanctuary and Unlock Altars of Lilith
Next, players should aim to uncover every corner of Sanctuary on their map and unlock all Altars of Lilith. When you embark on your new journey in the Season of the Malignant, your Seasonal Realm character will begin with all previously discovered areas of the map revealed and all previously unlocked Altars of Lilith. This also includes the corresponding renown for these altars, providing a solid head start in the new season.
Login after Patch 1.1.0 Releases
Lastly, Blizzard has urged players to log into Diablo 4 with their most progressed Eternal Realm character after Patch 1.1.0 releases on July 18. This is a crucial step to ensure that all the progress made in the campaign, along with all the map discoveries and Altars of Lilith unlocks, carries over from your Eternal Realm character to your new Seasonal Realm character.
Season of the Malignant is shaping up to be a spectacular evolution for Diablo IV, and the anticipation among the community is palpable. However, to fully engage in and appreciate all the new content, it’s important to make the necessary preparations. By taking the time now to complete these tasks, you can ensure that you’re ready to hit the ground running when the season officially begins.
