Big news for Pokémon Trading Card Game fans! For the first time, the English TCG will release a dual set with Pokémon Black Bolt and Pokémon White Flare, dropping this July. This set celebrates the entire Unova region with all 156 Pokémon included, marking a special 15th anniversary since the original games launched on Nintendo DS.
Dual sets have been a thing in Japan for a while, but usually, English releases combine them into a single set. Now, The Pokémon Company is shaking things up by releasing these two as separate but connected sets. The release date is July 18, with more products planned throughout the year.
Images of the first products have already surfaced on trading card retailers, giving us a sneak peek at what’s coming. You can check them out below, courtesy of Pokebeach.
This set is a tribute to the Unova region, which first appeared in Pokémon Black and White in 2010. It’s pretty cool that all 156 Unova Pokémon will be featured, making it a must-have for collectors and fans of that generation.
There’s also a brand-new rarity coming with Black Bolt and White Flare, adding fresh excitement to the card hunt. Plus, for the first time, every Unova Pokémon will have a rare illustration card, which is a huge deal for the TCG community.
Before this set arrives, the following English Pokémon TCG release, Destined Rivals, will hit shelves on May 30.
Earlier this year, The Pokémon Company addressed the ongoing trading card shortage, promising to increase production after fans reported difficulty finding cards. Hopefully, this new dual set will be easier to get your hands on!
