The Pokémon Trading Card Game is bringing back the much-loved Mega mechanic with the upcoming Mega Evolutions set, scheduled for release on September 26, 2025. This set follows the Japanese releases of Mega Symphonia and Mega Brave, which are scheduled for release on August 1, providing a glimpse of what Western players can expect.
Fans of Pokémon TCG might be wondering how this set compares to previous ones like Black Bolt and White Flare. Unlike those, the western release will combine both Japanese sets into a single collection, which is more typical for recent years. Interestingly, Mega Evolutions is expected to be the second-to-last set released in the West for 2025, with a final set planned for November. The upcoming Japanese sets, Inferno X and Ninja Spinner, hint at Mega Charizard and Mega Greninja being prominent cards in the future.
