Pokémon GO just kicked off an XP Celebration that will help trainers stockpile experience ahead of the level cap increase to 80 on October 15, 2025. The event runs late August through mid-October and packs double catch XP, big raid and Max Battle bonuses, plus a massive Timed Research line.
Event details
The XP Celebration runs from August 25 (1:00 p.m.) to October 14 (11:59 p.m.) local time. Key bonuses include 2x Catch XP for Nice, Great, and Excellent throws, +3,000 XP for winning raids, and +3,000 XP for winning Max Battles.
Level-Up Research change
Niantic tweaked one of the Level-Up Research tasks. The level 47 Level-Up Research task that previously required exploring 25 km in a week eight times now only needs to be done twice. If you were grinding that one, take a breath.
Timed Research – massive XP haul
All Trainers level 5 and above get access to event Timed Research that can award over 7 million XP in total. Here are the tasks and rewards as listed by the event:
