Pokémon GO’s Ancients Recovered Event Brings Back Legendary Regi Raids

Catch all Regi Pokémon with special moves and shiny forms in this free raid event before GO Fest 2025.

Prepare, Trainers! Niantic is hosting the Ancients Recovered event in Pokémon GO, a free raid event spotlighting all the iconic “Regi” Pokémon. This event is your chance to battle and catch these legendary giants, complete timed research, and enjoy some sweet bonuses before the big Pokémon GO Fest: Global 2025.

Event Details

The event runs from Monday, June 23, 10:00 a.m. to Friday, June 27, 8:00 p.m. local time. During this period, you’ll find all the Regi Pokémon in 5-star raids, each with guaranteed special moves and shiny variants available.

Raid Schedule & Featured Pokémon

  • June 23: Regirock, Regice, Registeel
  • June 24: Regieleki
  • June 25: Regidrago
  • June 26: Regigigas
  • June 27: All Regi Pokémon return, including Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki, Regidrago, and Regigigas

Each Regi has a distinct move set during the event:

  • Regirock: Earthquake (Charged Attack)
  • Regice: Thunder (Charged Attack)
  • Registeel: Zap Cannon (Charged Attack)
  • Regieleki: Thunder Cage (Charged Attack)
  • Regidrago: Dragon Breath (Fast Attack) and Dragon Energy (Charged Attack)
  • Regigigas: Crush Grip (Charged Attack)

Max Raid Battles

For those craving a challenge, 6-star max raid battles will feature the Gigantamax Galar Starters:

  •  Gigantamax Rillaboom
  •  Gigantamax Cinderace
  •  Gigantamax Inteleon

Bonuses to Enjoy

  • Remote Raid Pass limit increases to 30 from June 23 to June 26
  • No Remote Raid Pass limit from June 27 to June 29
  • Trainers level 31+ get guaranteed Candy XL for trading Pokémon from June 23 to June 29

Timed Research and Global Challenge

Trainers worldwide can team up for a Global Challenge from Sunday, June 22, 1:00 p.m. PDT to Friday, June 27, 1:00 p.m. PDT. If completed, bonuses include:

  • Premier Balls become more helpful after raids
  • Party Power charges faster in raids

Timed Research themed around legendary giants will offer encounters with Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki, Regidrago, and Regigigas. You can complete the research multiple times to catch them all!

Paid Timed Research

For US$7.99 (or local equivalent), a unique Timed Research focusing on exploration and catching Pokémon will reward encounters with Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, and Galarian Articuno. Remember, these have deadlines and must be completed during the event.
