Trainers! If you didn’t know, the Pokemon GO x Pokemon 2024 World Championships Celebration Event is getting close, and you know about that since it already started rolling out in Asia Pacific regions.
This event is supposed to be huge and bring special rewards and challenges, with the official Kick-off of the event being on August 20, from 10:00 to 20:00 Local Time. Because of this event, there are several Pokemon that are seeing increased spawn rates, including:
- Mankey
- Lickitung
- Marill
- Wooper
- Skarmory
- Swablu
- Fletchling
- Carbink
- Grubbin
- Mareanie
- Most of these have a chance to be shiny, too.
During the event, evolving or catching certain Pokemon can grant them special moves:
- Lickitung can learn Body Slam.
- Quagsire can learn Aqua Tail.
- Altaria can learn Moonblast.
- Talonflame can learn Incinerate.
- Charjabug can learn Volt Switch.
- Mienfoo can learn High Jump Kick.
The event will also introduce shadow version of multiple Pokemon in Raids:
- Magnemite
- Dratini
- Wooper
- Gligar
- Wobbuffet
- Kirlia
- and Sableye
Some of these are shiny capable too.
