August 19th, 2025, brings a Ralts Spotlight Hour to Pokémon GO players. This event runs from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time and offers double candy for every Pokémon caught. Plus, shiny Ralts and its evolutions will be available, making it a tempting chance for collectors and candy hunters.
Ralts is a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokémon originally from the Hoenn region. It maxes out at 609 CP and gets a boost in Windy and Cloudy weather. Shiny versions of Ralts, Kirlia, Gallade, Gardevoir, and their Mega forms will be in the spotlight, adding some sparkle to your catches.
Event Bonuses
- 2x Candy for catching Pokémon during the hour
- The featured Pokémon and its evolutions can be shiny
Suppose you’re not into catching Ralts specifically. In that case, the 2x candy bonus applies to any Pokémon you catch during the hour, so you can stock up on candy by catching a saved Scatterbug or opening a Mystery Box or Coin Bag. Even raid bosses caught during this time will yield extra candy, so it’s worth planning your catches.
Ralts Evolution and Candy Costs
Pokémon | Candy Required | Evolution Notes |
---|---|---|
Ralts | 25 Candy | |
Kirlia | 100 Candy + Sinnoh Stone (male only) | Evolves to Gallade if male |
Kirlia | 100 Candy | Evolves to Gardevoir |
Finding a strong IV male Ralts to evolve into Gallade might be worth it. Gallade doesn’t shine much in PVP and is overshadowed by bigger names in PVE like Alakazam or Metagross, but having a decent Gallade or Gardevoir can still help in raids or gym battles. Plus, Mega Gallade isn’t in the game yet, so evolving now could get you ready for the future.
Shiny Forms to Watch For
- Ralts
- Kirlia
- Gallade
- Gardevoir
- Mega Gallade
- Mega Gardevoir
Mega Pokémon That Boost Candy
Mega evolving certain Pokémon before catching Ralts will grant extra candy and XP. Here are some Mega Pokémon to bring along:
- Mega Alakazam
- Mega Slowbro
- Mega Gardevoir
- Mega Medicham
- Mega Altaria
- Mega Latias
- Mega Latios
- Mega Diancie
Keep in mind that XP and candy bonuses from Mega Evolution do not stack. Also, higher-level Mega Pokémon increase chances of Candy XL drops when catching matching types.
Here’s a quick look at Ralts CP by level to help you spot the strongest ones:
Level | CP | Level | CP | Level | CP |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 7 | 2 | 23 | 3 | 40 |
10 | 154 | 20 | 308 | 30 | 462 |
40 | 539 | 45 | 573 | 50 | 609 |
Thinking about evolving? Gallade might not be a PVP superstar or top PVE choice, but it’s solid for raids and gyms if you don’t have stronger legendaries. Gardevoir and Gallade both get Mega evolutions that could be useful later on, so finding a strong male Ralts isn’t a bad idea. I’m wondering if it’s worth it? I say yes, at least for the collection and future potential.
