We have a set of Halloween 2025 predictions for Pokémon GO, naming candidate new releases, costume ideas, and shiny drops that could appear during the seasonal event. The list showcases a mix of late additions, plush-inspired costume designs, and notable targets to watch. The picks range from simple costume variants to entire new Pokémon families. At the top of the list are the Blipbug family and Gigantamax Orbeetle, Mimikyu, and Basculegion, plus a handful of costume options pulled from this year’s Pokémon Center plush lineup.
Blipbug, Dottler, and Orbeetle are mentioned due to their alien-inspired appearance, and because Gigantamax Orbeetle was featured in an earlier teaser. That Gmax form still has not shown up in Pokémon GO, so it’s one of the more plausible surprise releases. Mimikyu is the most requested name on the list. Form changing is already supported in Pokémon GO, which makes Mimikyu’s introduction feel doable. Many Alola-era Pokémon joined the game this year, and Mimikyu has been waiting for its turn for a long time.
Basculegion is called out as a strong fit for Halloween because it s a Water and Ghost type evolution of the white-striped Basculin from Hisui. That evolution has multiple variants and could appear either as an evolution unlock or as a raid boss.
Costume ideas from the plush lineup
Costume Pokémon often draw from real world merchandise, and this year s Pokémon Center Halloween plushes are a handy guide. Our friends over at Pokémon GO Hub highlight a Pikachu costume with a Drifloon-style pumpkin pail, a bonnet-wearing Noibat, a witch hat Teddiursa, a Drifloon carrying a Pikachu, and a vampire-inspired Cyndaquil as possible candidates for in-game costume variants.
Some designs are more likely to be selected than others. Teddiursa’s simple witch hat and collar are easy to port into GO, while the Drifloon concept is darker and could push the limits of a costume variant.
Shiny candidates
There will also be several shiny possibilities for Halloween. Nickit and Thievul are suggested for their sneaky vibe and current prominence in seasonal stickers. Greavard and Houndstone are mentioned because of their ghostly aesthetic and attractive shiny palettes. Sinistea and Polteageist are also on the list, with Sinistea’s Phony and Authentic forms offering a grinding challenge for collectors.
