The Pokémon Company has unveiled a new unique trading card game (TCG) item for Japan, igniting a frenzy among fans eager to pre-order. This announcement coincides with the upcoming release of The Glory of Team Rocket trading card game set.
Multiple exclusive accessories will be available at Pokémon Center stores and the Japanese Pokémon Center online store to celebrate this event. The Pokémon: The Glory of Team Rocket set will feature Team Rocket’s iconic Pokémon along with Giovanni’s team members. This marks the third Japanese set reprising Trainer’s Pokémon after Battle Partners and Heat Wave Arena.
A particular accessory—the Attache Case Set—has gained immense popularity. It includes 30 booster packs alongside several deck accessories and a play mat. While it remains unclear if a promo card will accompany this set like others in Japan, its appeal is undeniable.
The rarity factor adds to its allure; products often debut in Japanese stores without ever reaching international shelves. This case explicitly recalls the Pokémon TCG 20th Anniversary Team Rocket Special Case, released in 2016. The previous version included various accessories and exclusive promo cards that have now skyrocketed in value—worth upwards of $10,000 when new! Presently, on auction sites like eBay, pre-orders are popping up for around £800 despite its original price tag being approximately £90.
Pokémon: The Glory of Team Rocket will launch in Japan on April 18. For English-speaking players, it will be part of the upcoming main set, Destined Rivals, following the much-awaited release of Pokémon Journey Together, which is due out later this week.
