PlayStation is set to return to the Tokyo Game Show on 25th September with a full booth at Makuhari Messe. The move matters now because attendees will get hands-on with playable demos like Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls and see new stages for Resident Evil Requiem during live stage shows.
Sony will bring a long list of playable titles to the event, including Battlefield 6, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, Fishbowl, Ghost of Yotei, Lumines Arise, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Meteora: A Challenge to Time and Space, Nioh 3, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Phantom Blade Zero, Resident Evil Requiem, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin.
Details reveal that the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls demo will be an updated build with both Ghost Rider and Spider-Man playable, and brand new stages will appear at the booth for the first time. That revised demo should draw a lot of attention from visitors looking for fresh characters and arenas.
PlayStation will run a stage show live from its booth throughout the weekend, with demonstrations of titles such as Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Scheduled presentations will give attendees direct looks at gameplay clips and curated hands-on time.
Merchandise and freebies will be on offer at the booth, including a Ghost of Yotei mask, Marvel Tokon acrylic badges, Yoasobi stickers and other items. Official PlayStation products and licensed goods, including Toro Inoue floppy disc-style key chains, Astro Bot tees, and even a Bloodborne sweater, are detailed on the official PlayStation page.
Rumors point to a new State of Play next week, where the fresh stages on display at TGS will likely make an on-screen appearance and some new characters may be announced. The indie title Meteora: A Challenge to Time and Space is among the listed playable entries and appears on Steam for those tracking the line-up.
