Reddit user Mostopha ran a series of polls on r/wow over the past month to find out which class players think best represents each playable race in World of Warcraft. Each race got its own thread. Replies ranged from about 30 to 300, and the chosen class for every race was taken from the comment with the most upvotes in that thread. That simple method produced a mix of obvious matches and a few surprises.
Many picks line up with classic WoW imagery. Examples include Orc Warriors, Forsaken Warlocks, and Dwarf Hunters. Other matches reflect newer lore and expansions, like Pandaren Monks, Dracthyr Evokers, and Haranir Druids. Some results are curveballs: Kul Tiran Shamans, Void Elf choices, and Zandalari Priests showed up in places readers might not expect. The thread for Night Elves included a cheeky reference to a Mohawk class from an old commercial, but Druid still appeared as a proper pick.
The most unexpected selection noted by the community was Dark Iron Warlocks. Players also suggested themed or sub-class ideas for races that need extra context, such as Mechagnomes. Mostopha says there may be another round that asks players to pick specs for each race, which will be harder to predict.
The Earthen get Shaman! And with that we're at the end. Thank you to evereyone who participated.
