Grinding Gear Games will drop the druid class into Path of Exile 2 on December 12 as part of its next major update. The studio says the patch will also include a full endgame rework and the developer will publish the complete list of changes on December 4. Players first saw druids in a GGG preview two years ago. That footage showed a familiar druid fantasy in motion. In human form the class calls lightning down and tears lava out of the ground. Then it transforms into a bear and starts smashing monsters.
Those initial clips were from an earlier build, and the class missed Path of Exile 2’s early access launch and the last update. Grinding Gear Games has now confirmed druids will be ready to play on December 12 under the patch titled The Last of the Druids. The developer also promised a broad endgame rework to give players more to do after the campaign is finished. The update will be free to try over the opening weekend. Players who want a reminder of how the game has been changing can read about recent balance and systems work in Update 0.3.0b changes and the rounds of fixes that followed.
Grinding Gear Games says it will publish the full patch notes on December 4. Expect new druid skills and animal forms on release, and some tuning to fit the current faster pace of combat compared with the older footage.
