Palworld is preparing to release a major update this summer, marking its second significant content drop in as many years. The highlight of this update is a crossover with Terraria, bringing creatures and elements from that world into Palworld’s gameplay.
Since its launch earlier in 2024, Palworld has attracted attention for its gameplay and its ongoing legal dispute with Pokémon. Despite this, the developers are pushing forward with fresh content that promises to appeal to fans of both Palworld and Terraria.
What’s Coming in Palworld: Tides of Terraria?
The update, titled Palworld: Tides of Terraria, will allow players to catch, train, and fight alongside monsters from Terraria, similar to how Pals are used in Palworld. However, the teaser leaves a hint that this might involve some twists.
In addition to the Terraria creatures, new Pals will be introduced. Teaser images show a jellyfish-inspired Pal and an ice seal, as well as new variants of existing Pals like Pengullet, which appears to have an electric type, and Croajiro, which changes from green to blue.
PocketPair, the developer, plans to share more information through Palworld’s social media channels in the coming weeks. Similar to last year’s Sakurajima update, there might be a big reveal at this year’s Summer Game Fest.
It’s worth noting that this update follows recent changes due to the legal issues with Pokémon, including removing the ability to use Pals as gliders.
