Recently, Palworld achieved a new milestone by becoming the second most concurrently played game on Steam, with a record-breaking 1,864,421 players. This impressive figure surpasses the previous record held by Counter-Strike 2, which peaked at 1,818,773 players. But they both still trail behind PUBG: Battlegrounds, which has the top spot with an unprecedented peak of 3,257,248 concurrent players.
Despite being on the market for less than a week, the creature collection and survival title has already sold over six million copies. The game’s developer, Pocketpair, reported that the peak number of concurrent players across all platforms recently reached 1.853,216, indicating that the total might soon exceed two million. If not throughout the week, the coming weekend will probably be huge for the game.
Palworld is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S and can be accessed through Game Pass. Although it has been well-received on Steam, the game has faced criticism on Xbox and the Microsoft Store, primarily due to bugs and other technical issues. Pocketpair has addressed these concerns, attributing the problems to discrepancies between different game versions and the extended duration of the certification process.
