Blizzard Entertainment has temporarily removed Tracer from Stadium mode in Overwatch 2 after players found an exploit that let her keep upgrades and currency, making her almost untouchable. A ban arrived two days after Tracer joined the mode, and Blizzard has not published a fix yet.
The Stadium format in Overwatch 2 is a seven-round mode where players save currency to buy stat boosts and ability modifiers to craft unusual builds. Its shop and refund mechanics create room for strange interactions, so Blizzard has been adding heroes carefully to keep the mode balanced. Tracer only reached Stadium recently, and the short window between her arrival and removal shows how quickly a single exploit can affect play. The temporary ban prevents further matches from being skewed while a proper solution is prepared.
The exploit worked like this: players bought upgrades, refunded them to recover currency, and then used Tracer’s Recall to rewind time while retaining both the stat buffs and the refunded cash. Clips shared by players show the loop in action. Some Tracer health pools climbed to almost 2,000 HP, making her roughly four times tankier than typical tanks while still keeping one of the smallest hitboxes and highest mobility on the roster. That combination let skilled players feel nearly invincible and made it very difficult for opponents to close out fights.

Blizzard has not explicitly said the temporary ban is tied to the exploit, but the timing and the footage make that a reasonable conclusion. Players reported being frustrated by fights against a tiny, hyperfast target that soaked damage for minutes.
