Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2’s 45th hero will be Vendetta, also known as La Lupa. She will arrive with Season 20 on December 9 and will be available for a limited trial from November 26 through December 1.
Vendetta is introduced as the daughter of Antonio Giordani, a corrupt businessman with ties to Talon. The short version of her origin is a bitter family business that turned into a gladiator arena. She fought in the Colosseo to carve out power and now looks to use that strength against the organisation that denied her inheritance.
The cinematic and trailer material show Vendetta as a sword user who can block incoming fire with her blade. Blizzard calls her ruthless and precise in a press release and hints at a legacy tied to the original Overwatch conflict with Talon. Her nationality is listed as Italian, and her playstyle appears to favor aggression near the enemy lines.
Blizzard has not yet published a complete ability list. The trailer gives glimpses only. That leaves room for guesses about whether she will be a pure shield tank or a hybrid that combines blocking with melee damage. Players should expect to learn her complete kit closer to the trial window, starting November 26.
Vendetta is the third hero added to Overwatch 2 in 2025 after Freja and Wuyang. Once she goes live, the hero roster will sit at 45. As for the competitive picture, it is too early to say how disruptive Vendetta will be. The footage suggests she will slot into the current style of tank play that prefers getting into opponents’ faces. If her kit leans into mobility and damage while keeping reliable defensive tools, she could become common in ranked lineups. If her strengths are narrower, she may end up as a specialist picked for particular maps and matchups.
