Respawn Entertainment has banned over 700 top-ranked Apex Legends players. Apparently, most of them have tried their way to abuse and earn easy ranks. The banned accounts are ranked Gold and Predator, which is pretty much the highest you can get in Apex Legends.
Conor Ford, Apex Security at Respawn, indeed holds a big ban hammer and waits for such occasions to arise. Hence, his 700 high-level bans have been addressed in a tweet below:
700+ accounts used for cheating in ranked (Gold-Pred) have been permanently banned since last Thurdasy. This does not, and will not, include any accounts that used an infinite heat shield exploit. Love you all ♥️🔨

The thing is, any other game having a ranked game mode should be as rigorous as this, as dishonest players who want to get ahead will always exist in every game.
