Today marks another significant change for OpTic Texas, as they’ve announced the removal of Amer “Pred” Zulbeari from their Call of Duty roster in favor of Cuyler “Huke” Garland. Fans may feel a sense of déjà vu, given that this is the second time in recent months that OpTic has made this adjustment.
In an official statement, OpTic expressed gratitude to Pred for his “passion and energy,” acknowledging his contributions to the team. This decision comes after Pred was shifted to an inactive role last December due to personal matters and a need to focus on mental health. Though he confirmed he was a free agent shortly thereafter, he remained under contract with OpTic.
A World Champion with passion and energy for the game that is truly special ⚡

Huke’s return marks his return to OpTic after over a year’s absence. Following his victory with the Dallas Empire in 2020, he had several stints including teams like LA Thieves and Seattle/Vancouver Surge. Initially, when Huke joined OpTic this season, results were less than stellar. Even after bringing Pred back into the starting lineup earlier this February, things continued downward.
Just before last weekend’s Stage Two Major, OpTic Texas made another change by bringing in Cesar “Skyz” Bueno following Kenneth “Kenny” Williams’ decision to step down from competitive play, as we look forward to the Stage 3 Major Qualifiers beginning April 1st, it’s likely we’ll see further roster changes across different teams within the league.
