Here’s a quick shakeup in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 lineup: OG Esports will replace TYLOO in the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 tournament starting August 5th, 2025. This switch matters because it determines which teams will compete for the $500,000 prize pool and could alter the competitive dynamic of the event.

TYLOO, the Chinese esports squad, hasn’t said why they won’t be competing at BLAST Bounty Season 2. They’ve been active in Europe lately, even snagging a win at FISSURE Playground 1. After that, they joined 23 other CS2 teams at IEM Cologne, the first big Tier 1 event following the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

So why OG? They’re next in line based on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), which ranks teams globally. OG Esports will try to build on a solid showing at the Austin Major, now with a slightly refreshed roster. In July, Christian ‘talk’ Andersen moved to inactive status, while Adam ‘adamb’ Ångström joined the starting five.

What Is BLAST Bounty Season 2?

BLAST Bounty Season 2 splits its competition between online qualifiers and a LAN final. 32 teams will compete online to grab one of eight spots in the LAN final, which will be held in Malta. This island has become a hub for BLAST events following a three-year deal with GamingMalta, which was announced earlier this year, securing events there through 2027.

BLAST has also tweaked the seeding and wagering format for Season 2, encouraging teams to bet higher amounts of money. The prize money for this season is a hefty $500,000 (~£368,864), making the stakes pretty clear for OG Esports and the other 31 teams.

Will OG Esports make the most of this unexpected opportunity? They’ve got some momentum from their recent roster change and Austin Major performance. It’ll be interesting to see if they can keep up with the competition or if the absence of TYLOO shakes things up more than expected.
