Off The Grid gets an official announcement. Developed by Gunzilla Games, Off The Grid is a Cyberpunk Styled third-person Battle Royale shooter. The game is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with an estimated arrival in 2023 if everything goes to plan.
In a recent press release, the developer stated its setting and some core features, including an in-game teaser trailer (you can watch it at the top of the article) powered by Unreal Engine 5. Off The Grid is set in a dystopian future and strongly emphasizes narrative progression.
OTC will support servers with up to 150 players, enduring PvP and PvE elements. There will be quests or storyline missions, which somewhat remind of Escape From Tarkov. Each player’s decision, as revealed, will have a direct impact on everyone’s gameplay which is unique and quite inventive.
“With OTG, our ambition is not only to create the Battle Royale 2.0 by adding deep player progression, but to build an evolving world designed to take on a life of its own, changing in unexpected ways each time a player rejoins the game. With an innovative approach to the Battle Royale core session flow and a deep narrative experience, we add purpose to each element of the game, allowing players to revisit the OTG world repeatedly where there is always something new to find and explore, and for us to expand upon.” – said Neill Blomkamp, CVO.
