The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has attracted a notable nine million players since its launch on April 22. It’s impressive considering the game only recently arrived, and it’s sparked plenty of conversations about what Bethesda Game Studios might do next.
Oblivion Remastered caught many by surprise with its release, feeling more like a thorough rebuild than a typical remaster. Whether you’re a longtime fan or someone discovering the classic 2006 RPG for the first time, it has offered a fresh way to experience the game.
Since its release, players have flocked to Oblivion Remastered, blending the old guard of fans with newcomers curious about the game’s world. While it’s not without some bugs and rough edges, it stays true to the spirit of the original, which has given many hope that Bethesda will revisit other favorite titles.
Personally, I’m holding out hope for a Fallout 3 remaster announcement soon. Wouldn’t that be something? On social media, Bethesda Game Studios expressed their gratitude to the community for helping reach this nine million milestone in just three months:
To everyone who emerged as a hero of Kvatch, mastered Arch-Mage, rose to Grand Champion, banished the Blackwood Company, gallivanted as the Gray Fox, and listened to the Night.
Thank you for sharing in our worlds. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/CgSYfObWyx

Interestingly, Oblivion Remastered was the best-selling game in the United States in April, despite only being available for a week that month. Some players did report performance issues on consoles in May, but Bethesda addressed these fairly quickly with patches.
