There has been a new leak regarding Nvidia’s latest ampere-powered GPUs. The leak reveals new mid-range RTX 3060 and 3050 Ti GPUs. Reportedly, there will be an RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 Ti coming in the future. These new RTX 30 series are expected to launch in early 2021.
The leak was discovered by a very well known source which tends to discover such Nvidia-related information. Kopite7kimi posted on Twitter that both of the upcoming desktop GPUs will be based on GA106 and will be called RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 Ti.
Ah, the desktop cards based on GA106 will be called
RTX 3060(3840FP32)
and
RTX 3050 Ti(3584FP32).
😅I don't know if it will change in the future.— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) November 4, 2020
Reportedly, the RTX 3060 will have 3840 CUDA cores, while the RTX 3050 Ti will have 3584. They will be at a much lower price than today’s RTX 3070. That will be for around $100-$150 in price, which makes the GPUs very affordable. Considering its Ampere technology, both of the cards are prevalent in running games on 1080p and 1440p, and the GPUs are estimated to have memory around 6GB of GDDR6.
The high-end GPU market competition is growing bigger, with AMD’s latest RX 6000 series being on the line. Producing both the RTX 3060 and 3050 Ti is considered a well-planned marketing move, and Nvidia might be finding a way to tackle the already announced prices by AMD for their RX 6000 series.
