Nvidia released the GeForce Hotfix Driver v595.76 as a targeted patch for a pair of problems that have been affecting some PC gamers. The company says the update addresses cases where an overclocked graphics card could see its GPU voltage capped and fail to reach expected boost levels. Nvidia also lists fixes related to visual glitches and says the driver should improve path tracing performance in Resident Evil Requiem.
Players reporting low frame rates and odd artifacts with path tracing in Resident Evil Requiem flagged the issue on Reddit. See one of the user threads documenting the path-tracing performance problem here. A separate Reddit thread shares community discussion of the new hotfix build about driver version 595.76.

The hotfix announcement is also reflected in a public post that highlights the main resolved items. You can view Nvidia’s hotfix support entry for details at NVIDIA hotfix support. A March 4 social post reproduces the key lines about what the update resolves and the company date stamp, see the public post here.

Nvidia also warns that Hotfix drivers are optional and go through a shorter QA cycle than WHQL certified releases. The company notes that the “safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver,” because “these Hotfix drivers are beta, optional and provided as-is” and “are run through a much abbreviated QA process.” If you are seeing the specific Requiem path tracing slowdown or the voltage capping while overclocked, the hotfix is an available remedy. Otherwise, waiting for the next full WHQL driver is the conservative choice. For additional context on recent GeForce driver updates, Nvidia issued a WHQL release earlier in the week that added Game Ready support for Resident Evil Requiem and other fixes.
