Have you recently gotten your hands on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090? If so, you might want to sit down for this one. The launch of Nvidia’s newest line of graphics cards hasn’t been without its hiccups, and it appears some users are facing frustrating challenges that have left them less than pleased.

Reports of bricked RTX 5090 GPUs have flooded forums and social media platforms over the last few days. Users claim that their systems are failing to recognize these new $2,000 cards, both the standard version and the Chinese-specific RTX 5090D. Some frustrated gamers have tried various troubleshooting methods, like clearing the CMOS and reinstalling drivers, but many have walked away empty-handed. Seeing such excitement turn into disappointment so quickly is a bit disheartening.

The surge in complaints prompted Nvidia to take notice and release a statement regarding the situation. They mentioned, “We are investigating the reported issues with the RTX 50 series,” acknowledging that they’re aware of a problem but leaving many questions unanswered.

The vagueness of their response doesn’t provide much comfort for those affected. What could be causing such widespread failures? While we await further details from Nvidia about potential solutions or fixes for these unfortunate technical difficulties, it’s important to remember how significant these discussions can be in shaping future releases.
