Norwegian electronics retailer Komplett is offering a free copy of GTA 6 to parents whose child is born on the game’s scheduled release date of November 19, 2026. The claim appeared in an Instagram post from Komplett and in an advertisement photographed at a Norwegian railway station.
Komplett’s Instagram post reads in part:
“this is actually not a joke, GTA 6 will be released in 9 months (🤞) and if you have a baby on the release date, you’ll get the game for free from us”
The promotion hinges on timing. Komplett points out that if conception happens around now, the due date will fall roughly nine months later, which would place a birth near the current November 19, 2026 launch window. The company frames the offer as a reward for parents whose child is born on that exact day.
A Reddit user shared a photo of the railway-station advertisement showing rose petals on a rumpled bed and the tagline “GTA 6 dropping in 9 months 😉.” The Reddit thread includes the station image and has circulated alongside screenshots of the Instagram message. The Reddit post and Komplett’s Instagram post are the public sources for the claim.
The stunt is clearly promotional. Komplett’s timing note also points out the coincidence that the release date is almost exactly nine months after Valentine’s Day. Parents who qualify will likely be focused on infant care rather than launch-day coverage or livestreams.
Earlier reporting raised questions about whether the game is content complete at present and how that might affect scheduling, and that report is available here.
