No DLC or Extended Support for Assassin’s Creed Mirage as Ubisoft Focuses on Stealth and Control

Ubisoft’s upcoming addition to its flagship franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, has been quite the topic among fans. Interestingly, the game’s creative director Stephane Boudon recently revealed in a Reddit AMA that the new title will significantly deviate from the series’ norm.

One of the most notable revelations from Boudon was the lack of plans for DLC or extended post-launch support for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This is a surprising departure for Ubisoft, a company known for supporting its Assassin’s Creed games long after their initial release. It suggests that Mirage is designed as a standalone, one-and-done adventure, where players can expect a complete experience at launch without additional content.

But the lack of DLC isn’t the only difference. Assassin’s Creed Mirage also returns to the franchise’s stealth roots, with Boudon highlighting the enhanced quick-save feature tailored for stealth enthusiasts. He assured fans of the feature’s reliability, stating, “This is part of our debug process, and we are committed to giving you the best level of quality for AC Mirage.”

Another topic during the AMA was the game’s approach to parkour, a staple of the Assassin’s Creed series. Boudon described the team’s focus on creating a sense of “fluidity and control” in Mirage’s parkour mechanics. However, he also confirmed that specific movements, such as back and side ejects, which offered the characters more flexibility in previous titles, would not be part of Mirage’s parkour system.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming to Xbox, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC on October 12.
