Koei Tecmo described the title as the fastest-selling entry in the series in a Steam post and said the new milestone pushed the entire Nioh franchise past 10 million units sold worldwide. The Steam announcement is available from the developer and includes the sales figure and celebration materials; the studio also released an accolades trailer to mark the occasion.
The studio released Nioh 3 on February 14, 2026. The game blends samurai and ninja combat styles against yokai foes and adds an open field for exploration alongside mission-style encounters that include enemy-filled locations and hostile villages while confronting the narrative presence known as the Crucible.
Prior coverage noted that Nioh 3 entered the market with a timed console exclusivity agreement with PlayStation, meaning versions for Xbox Series X|S and possibly a future Switch 2 release have not appeared yet and could widen the game’s reach in the months ahead.
