Team Ninja has confirmed a playable demo for Nioh 3 will launch on January 29, 2026, on PS5, with the full game following on Friday, February 6, 2026, the developer’s producer Fumihiko Yasuda said on the PlayStation Blog. The demo includes online multiplayer for up to three players and allows demo save data to transfer into the retail release. Yasuda also said early buyers will receive exclusive cosmetics inspired by the protagonists of Nioh and Nioh 2.
Yasuda wrote that the demo “contains online multiplayer mode with up to three players, enabling ninjas and samurai worldwide to invite friends to experience the demo’s deadly action before the game’s official full version release.” He added that Nioh 3 combines ninja and samurai playstyles and that the team “feel this is the best game in franchise history.”
A new trailer that debuted at The Game Awards shows how players can switch between two distinct combat styles on the fly, and the trailer accompanies the demo announcement.
The demo’s close timing to the full release gives players a quick way to test new systems and carry progression forward, and it will be an early chance to try the series’ updated open-field exploration and combat tuning ahead of February.
