Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase on November 14 spotlighted an exciting lineup of indie games slated for release on the Nintendo Switch. Among these, standout titles include the eagerly awaited “Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition,” the retro-inspired “Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution,” and the artistic puzzle-platformer “Braid.”

“Outer Wilds,” set to launch digitally on December 7 with a physical release in 2024, promises an open-world adventure across a time-looping solar system, offering players a chance to uncover cosmic secrets. “Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution,” revives a 20-year-old project, offering a mix of action, adventure, and puzzle-solving with a unique art style. Slated for a 2024 release, it’s sure to excite fans of the series.

Other notable mentions include “A Highland Song,” a narrative-driven platformer set in the Scottish Highlands, launching on December 5. “Backpack Hero,” a deck-building roguelike, and “Howl,” a turn-based tactical game with a unique art style, both make their debut later today.

The showcase also introduced “Blade Chimera,” a 2D action game set in a dystopian Osaka, and “Death Trick: Double Blind,” a detective visual novel, both launching as console exclusives in spring and 2024, respectively.

Fans of puzzle adventures can look forward to “The Star Named EOS,” a first-person storytelling experience exploring the theme of photography, set for a spring 2024 release. “Moonstone Island” combines creature-collecting with a life sim, offering an engaging sky exploration experience, also slated for a spring 2024 release.

The list continues with “Core Keeper,” a mining sandbox adventure, “Planet of Lana,” a cinematic puzzle-adventure, and “Enjoy the Diner,” a mysterious narrative adventure, all confirming their arrival on the Switch in the coming months.

Nintendo’s showcase further included “The Gecko Gods,” a relaxed puzzle-platformer, “Passpartout 2: The Lost Artist,” a unique painting adventure, and “Urban Myth Dissolution Center,” a mystery game focusing on urban legends. These titles, along with “Heavenly Bodies,” a physics-based space puzzler, are set to enrich the Switch’s indie game catalog in 2024.

This diverse and robust selection of indie games not only showcases the creativity and innovation within the indie game community but also reinforces the Nintendo Switch’s position as a versatile platform for gamers of all tastes. With a mix of genres, art styles, and unique gameplay mechanics, these upcoming releases are poised to offer something for everyone, continuing Nintendo’s tradition of delivering quality, engaging content to its audience.
