Images that supposedly reveal new angles of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock have popped up online. The talk started when these images were shared on Famiboards. What’s super interesting is that this source previously leaked computer-aided design renderings of the console last year on Xiaohongshu, a Chinese social media platform. Those initial images turned out to be spot-on compared to what Nintendo officially revealed about the Switch 2 the previous month.
The latest leak features a set of images, including one showing what looks like a ventilated base for the dock. How cool is that? Before we even saw the console in action, journalist Laura Kate Dale also dropped an image suggesting how the dock would look.
Dale mentioned that the Switch 2 will come with a powerful 60W charger! But here’s where it gets a bit tricky: apparently if you try using your old Switch’s charger while it’s docked, it might not work. You could still charge it with that cable but expect slower speeds. Talk about a bummer!
If you missed it, Nintendo officially announced the Switch 2 last month with an exciting teaser video showcasing both the console and its Joy-Cons. The trailer also gave us a sneak peek at what seems to be a new Mario Kart game running on this fresh hardware!
The full reveal of this shiny new console is set for April 2 during a special Switch 2 Nintendo Direct presentation. I can barely contain my excitement!
Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, recently shared that they’re considering various factors when determining the price for this next-gen device, hopefully keeping their trademark affordability in mind!
He also assured fans that they’re taking steps to prevent resellers from messing with launch supplies. Fingers crossed!
