Nintendo Live Fanfest Makes Its Debut in the US This Year

Seattle to Host a Celebration of Nintendo Games, Characters, and Worlds in September 2023

The Nintendo Live fanfest, a popular celebration of Nintendo games, characters, and worlds, is making its way to the United States for the first time. Following the event’s triumphant occasion in Japan last year, the in-person experience is set to take place in Seattle this September. The specific timing, venue, and further details will be confirmed later.

Nintendo Live 2023 promises an all-ages celebration featuring Switch gameplay opportunities, live stage performances, gaming tournaments, photo ops, and other exciting activities. The event will be held in a large-scale themed area, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the unique world of Nintendo.

Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America president, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event. “Fans of all ages can currently experience the unique games, characters, and worlds of Nintendo on Nintendo Switch, but we want to expand that scope with a new experience,” he said. “With Nintendo Live 2023, we’re giving attendees a chance to celebrate together with family, friends and the broader Nintendo community in the spirit of fun and creating long-lasting memories.

The Japan event in September 2022 featured live music, stage events, game competitions, and more. Attendees were chosen by lottery to maintain safe attendance sizes. Highlights of the event included the finals of a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online tournament, a stage show about the history of Pokémon games, a live quiz, and tournaments for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Nintendo Switch Sports, and Splatoon 3.

According to the official Nintendo Live website, the US event will offer a variety of activities, including:

Attendees can enjoy popular Nintendo Switch games, play familiar favorites at their own pace, engage in friendly competitions, or try something new.

Live Stage

The event will feature live stage performances, thrilling competitions, and more for fans to enjoy.

Photo Ops
