Nintendo has confirmed that it will be hosting a Nintendo Direct this week. It’ll air on Thursday, March 27, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. The presentation is expected to last around 30 minutes and will focus on upcoming games for the original Switch. Notably, there won’t be any updates about the Nintendo Switch 2 in this session; that information will come during a separate Direct airing on April 2.

What to expect
The presentation may reveal more information about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which are the last two remaining first-party Switch games scheduled for release this year. However, since a Pokemon Presents showcase aired last month, it’s uncertain whether Pokemon Legends: Z-A will make an additional appearance.
The approximately 30-minute duration suggests that several third-party games could also feature prominently. Titles like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Lunar Remastered Collection, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, and Rusty Rabbit, all set for release in the coming months, might also get some spotlight.
A few updates for previously announced titles could also surface, including details about the remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky remake and news regarding Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, which were revealed in past Directs.
Certainly, many players are wondering if we’ll finally hear a release date announcement for Hollow Knight: Silksong. There are rumors suggesting that a version tailored for Switch 2 may debut soon, making it another potential candidate for next week’s show.
