The next Escape From Tarkov wipe is currently unknown, and it may not occur in the same manner as in the past, as the game is scheduled to reach full release on November 15, 2025. That matters because a wipe resets every player to level one and clears stash contents, and wipes usually arrive with major content updates.
What a wipe does
When Tarkov wipes, every player returns to level one, and their stash, weapons, equipment, and in-game money are reset to the state they were in when they first bought the game. From there, players rebuild progress, work through early tasks, and rebuild their hideout. That reset is a balancing tool, and historically, it has also accompanied significant content changes, such as the introduction of new maps, weapons, or gameplay mechanics. For a primer on the game’s single-player side, see the Is Escape From Tarkov Single-Player? Guide.
PvE and manual wipes
In 2024, Battlestate Games opened Tarkov’s PvE mode more widely. PvE works differently from the main game because it does not auto-wipe. Players can choose to trigger a manual wipe there or keep playing the same character indefinitely.
When is the next Tarkov wipe in 2025?
The developer has not announced the next complete wipe, and with the full launch scheduled for November 15, 2025, the future wipe structure is unclear. Battlestate Games has stated that there may still be pre-wipe-style events ahead of the full release, even if a traditional wipe does not occur.
