Yet another delay has hit the New World community as they eagerly press the refresh button to see if the server maintenance is over. Well, do not try so hard, as Amazon Games has posted on Twitter that the server maintenance for New World’s 1.0.1 update will take an additional 2 hours on top of the previous delay. That would bring us to 7 hours of downtime.
It appears that the developer team is having some struggles, but it’s all with effort for a smooth restart of the servers. No matter the downtime, I think everyone will be pleased, thanks to the new AFK system that is supposed to prevent AFK players from staying on the server for a long time. This will translate into a good quality assurance imbuing a shorter queue line.
You can find the official announcement for the last maintenance delay below, as posted by Amazon Games on New World’s official Twitter profile:
Unfortunately, we are having some technical difficulties and need to extend the maintenance for two more hours.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and support!
