In a surprising announcement, 3D Realms and Saber Interactive have revealed that a new Painkiller game is in the works. This fast-paced action FPS will feature both co-op and solo gameplay and hit PC platforms in Fall 2025.

The remake promises an adrenaline-packed experience as players wield infernal weapons against relentless demonic hordes. Whether teaming up with friends or taking on enemies solo, expect chaotic battles filled with many foes.

The storyline plunges players into Purgatory, where they must redeem themselves. As one of the Champions tasked with stopping Azazel from unleashing his army upon Earth, you’ll face a variety of enemies, including demons endowed with distinct powers and three monstrous children of Azazel known as the Nephilim.

This installment will allow players to jump, dash, and hook across expansive biomes while battling using a diverse arsenal of classic and new Painkiller weapons. The tarot cards are also making a return! Players can boost their abilities by employing these cards and creating powerful combinations alongside their teammates to dominate the battlefield.

Painkiller will introduce four distinct characters: Ink, Void, Sol, and Roch – each boasting distinct abilities and stats for players to choose from. Fans can look forward to a dynamic gameplay experience tailored by character selection.
