Electronic Arts after four games have decided to conceive the chance out from Ghost Games, and give it back to Criterion Games to develop future Need For Speed Titles. Continuing the franchise is very important for the company, as the game has proved to be among the best racing games out there.

Criterion Games is a development studio ion UK and is mostly known for its successful titles such as Burnout and Star Wars Battlefront.

In a statement to Gamesindustry, EA has discovered:

With a strong history and passion for racing games and vision for what we can create, the Criterion team is going to take Need for Speed into the next-generation.

Throughout the past series, Ghost Games had the development focus. In contrast, Criterion Games have lurked in the shadows, with a couple of previously developed NFS titles, before the era of Ghost Games.

EA also did not forget to praise the fidelity of Criterion Games with the following message:

Criterion is a fantastic studio, and we’re looking forward to adding to their talented team and building a great future for Need for Speed.

Ghost Games’ team will be balanced to all-around projects in the property of EA, which needs engineering skills.
