MOUZ flexed their muscles and knocked Liquid down to the lower bracket in Stage 2, where the match is a huge deal because the survival race in Group B, with Liquid now needing to battle FaZe to stay alive.
MOUZ came in hot, especially on the first map, Inferno. absolutely dominated Liquid’s CT side, winning most of the opening fights and reading Liquid’s attacks like an open book. The half has ended with a commanding 10-2 lead for MOUZ. Liquid tried to claw their way back, highlighted by a clutch 1vs2 by NertZ, but it was never enough. MOUZ kept their cool and closed the map 13-7.
Moving on to Train, MOUZ were the favorites, having only lost to the top team, Vitality, this year on this map. They started strong on the T side, and at halftime, the score was tied at 6-6. torzsi mentioned post-match that Train was a smart pick to punish Liquid since they hadn’t played it since their last meeting. Liquid’s attack struggled to keep pace, and although they briefly took a 9-6 lead, MOUZ dominated the closing rounds to win 13-9, sealing the series 2-0.
This match marked a tough third straight loss for siuhy, who recently switched from MOUZ to Liquid. Now, Liquid faces a do-or-die matchup against FaZe in the lower bracket, while MOUZ will battle Natus Vincere for a spot in the playoffs. With makazze newly added to NaVi, that clash is going to be intense.
