MoP Classic Players Scramble for Darkmoon Faire Trinkets Ahead of Raids

If you’re jumping into Mists of Pandaria Classic, you might have noticed a mad rush for Darkmoon Faire trinkets. These items have had a special place in World of Warcraft since Vanilla, especially when gearing up before raids. Right now, they’re the go-to Best-in-Slot (BiS) trinkets for almost every class before the raid doors even open. But how do you obtain them? Let’s break it down.

What Are Darkmoon Faire Decks?

To score one of these precious trinkets, you first need to assemble a Darkmoon Faire deck. Each deck consists of 8 different cards, numbered from Ace to Eighth. When you collect the complete set, you can turn it in at the Darkmoon Faire to snag your trinket.

There are 4 decks in total, which yield 5 different trinkets catering to different roles:

  • Tiger Deck grants the Relic of Xuen, ideal for physical DPS classes.
  • Ox Deck provides the Relic of Niuzao for tanks.
  • Crane Deck offers the Relic of Chi-Ji for healers.
  • Serpent Deck gives the Relic of Yu’lon tailored for caster DPS.

How to Get a Deck

There are three main ways to get your deck:

  • Become a Scribe or find someone who is, then craft all 8 cards and combine them into a deck.
  • Buy individual cards from the Auction House. Prices vary since some cards are rarer than others.
  • Purchase a fully completed deck if you have the gold, but be aware that this can be pricey; consider other options first.

If you love a challenge and want to save some gold, becoming a Scribe is probably your best bet. Once you hit 600 skill in the Inscription profession, you can craft cards using the Darkmoon Card of Mists skill. Crafting is random, so it might take a while to get the full deck, but it’s also a solid way to make some gold early on.

Do you think these trinkets will stay relevant once raids open? Or will players move on quickly? I’m kinda curious myself! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
