Monster Hunter Wilds Update 4 Promises CPU and GPU Performance Boosts

Capcom's upcoming Title Update 4 aims to improve Monster Hunter Wilds' PC performance this winter.

Monster Hunter Wilds has been struggling with optimization issues since launch, and Capcom is finally stepping up with Title Update 4, which will target CPU and GPU performance improvements. The patch is expected to arrive this winter, though the exact release date remains a mystery.

When it first came out in February 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds was a bit of a mess performance-wise on both PC and consoles. The visuals often looked underwhelming, which was surprising for a game built on the RE Engine. Plus, performance barely changed whether you cranked settings up or down from Medium to Ultra, with stutters popping up here and there. Not exactly what you’d hope for from a significant release.

Capcom has announced a two-stage plan for the PC version. The initial phase will focus on CPU and GPU optimizations, followed by a second round of fixes to tackle remaining issues. It sounds like they’re finally taking the feedback seriously after months of complaints.

Interestingly, back in March 2025, a modder named Praydog released a fix that helped with stutters caused by the game’s anti-tamper tech. Whether Capcom has addressed this in earlier patches is unclear, but if you’re still experiencing those annoying hiccups, that mod might be worth a shot.

Given that Title Update 4 might not hit until early 2026, Monster Hunter Wilds is probably heading for a spot on many gamers’ lists of the worst-optimized PC games of 2025. Yikes. But hey, at least Capcom is working on it.

Here’s a tweet from the official Monster Hunter account that sums it up:

To our hunters playing #MHWilds on PC, we're committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game.

Although we will continue to implement gradual improvements in the weeks ahead, we are targeting Free Title Update 4 this winter to…

So, what took them so long? Maybe they underestimated how much of a pain the optimization problems would be. Or maybe they were busy with other projects. Either way, it’s about time. The game has potential, but it’s been held back by technical issues. I’m curious if these fixes will finally smooth things out or if players will still be left frustrated.

Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with Monster Hunter Wilds in the comments below. Have you been struggling with performance issues? What would you like to see improved the most?
